Join us this December for Glory of Christmas–one of Portland’s favorite  holiday traditions for 40+ years!

This year’s program includes choral arrangements by Robert Shaw and Alice Parker, Morten Lauridsen’s O Magnum Mysterium, and a brand new arrangement by ORS accompanist and celebrated local songwriter and performer Naomi LaViolette. We’ll perform excerpts from Ola Gjeilo’s Sunrise Mass, as well as Handel’s Messiah, accompanied by special guests from the Union High School Chamber Orchestra (Camas, WA). Internationally renowned organist Jonas Nordwall, the music director at First United Methodist Church for over 40 years, will accompany the singers as well after his stunning performance at October’s season opener, The Armed Man.

We’ll continue our tradition of inviting local students for their own program and a combined finale with ORS. This year’s guests include students from Twality Middle School, The Portland Village School, Oregon Episcopal School, and of course the Oregon Repertory Singers Youth Choirs. Whether for the first or 43rd time, we know you’ll love Glory!
